A BORING ENTRY ABOUT A BORING DAY... SIGH

FROM JULY 6, 2006 Still on a break from work today, which is great! Spent a portion of the day unpacking(again), which was not so great, except that I actually unpacked the very last box today. All I really had left was all of the unessential items that I probably could have thrown away and never missed. So why didn't I? Who knows. The voice in my head that tells me I may need it someday just speaks really loudly to me sometimes. (I think I inherited that voice from my mother.)

To not make this entry quite so boring and mundane I thought I would add a nice thought. I love trees, and leaves, and autumn, and pretty much anything associated with it. There is just something peaceful about them. They can be so grand and their leaves so colorful. Anyway, while in Lousiana last summer I was able to visit a plantation and go on a swamp tour, where I saw and took pictures of some of the most beautiful trees I've ever seen. The photo is just one of them.

So here's a partial quote to sum up my fascination and love of trees:

"When you enter a grove peopled with ancient trees... shutting out the sky with their thickly inter-twined branches...do not the stately shadows of the wood, the stillness of the place... then strike you with the presence of a deity?"

A TRIBUTE TO THE SPECIAL ONES IN OUR LIVES

FROM SATURDAY, JULY 1, 2006
Not sure what to write on my first ever blog entry, so here is a favorite quote of mine:

"Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people stay for a while and give us a deeper understanding of what is truly important in this life.
They touch our souls.
We gain strength from the footprints they have left on our hearts,
and we will never, ever, be the same." -- unknown

These are the type of people that I look for and hope to have in my life. And I'm fortunate to already have some great family members and friends who fit this description.
